Turkish police raids Nokta magazine, bans distribution

Turkish police raided Nokta magazine early on Monday morning, a magazine which ran a recent cover showing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan taking a selfie at a martyr’s funeral, leading to the banning of the distribution of its 18th edition.

Chief Editor Cevheri Güven said the police confiscated copeis of their 18th issue both at the printing house and their distribution company. Güven added that some of the copies were sent to the far-located dealers early and now the police is going newsstand to newsstand “hunting down” those early distributed magazines.
