No end for journalists prosecuted for ‘insulting the president’

Another journalist is added to the long list of  colleagues who “insulted” President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by their work.

Daily Birgün reporter Onur Erem is facing one to four years in prison because of a story about the president. Erdoğan has been frequently accused of being a “thief” and “murderer” by his critics which reflects to the autocomplate feature of Google.  Erem wrote a story about this issue, titled “Google knows it, too” and the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s Office started an investigation against him.
